Cryptonovae NFTs Are Going to Polygon (MATIC)
Congratulations to all Cryptonovaeans that won the NFT lottery last month!
This time around, it comes with several improvements to the process and it will enhance your experience even if you have won in past rounds of our regular, monthly NFT Lottery.
How to see your NFTs?
By the time you are reading this article, the Cryptonovae team will have airdropped the NFTs to the latest winners on the Polygon network. So they are already on your wallet for you to own, view, show off on Twitter (or Instagram or any other platform that supports NFTs), and trade.
You don’t need to do anything special to verify and view your NFTs, just visit OpenSea and log in with your wallet. Verify you own the NFT by going to your OpeaSea account page, under the “Hidden” tab, or directly on the blockchain by viewing recent transactions associated with your wallet.
Setting up Polygon on MetaMask
In order to manage your NFTs, you will need to add the Polygon network to your MetaMask wallet. If you are already on Binance Smart Chain, you will be familiar with the process. If you haven’t we will share the steps just below:
To add a network to your MetaMask open the browser extension and click on the current network (the default is Ethereum Mainnet) and you will see a button labeled “Add Network”. Clicking on this button will open a new window where you can input the following information:
- Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
- New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/
- Chain ID: 137
- Currency Symbol: MATIC
- Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
Save, select the network from the dropdown, and Voilà, you are on the Polygon Network.

Why Polygon?
Simply put, the NFT marketplaces and activity are much higher on Polygon compared to our original choice of Binance Smart Chain. The OpeaSea marketplace enables our NFTs to gain more traction and become more approachable to NFT connoisseurs.
As a result, we have created a specific Cryptonovae account and Cryptonovae NFT Lottery collection associated with this account and provide lasting credentials proving your ownership over this collectible digital asset.
If you have received a Cryptonovae NFTs on BSC, you will also receive the same NFT on the Polygon mainnet ensuring you will have the same level of access as other YAE community members.
Future NFT Utility
We’ve discussed the NFT utility for quite some time now and the conclusion is that we want to keep the NFTs simply as collectibles, at least until Saul Espinosa’s epic planet collection is not yet complete.
For the time being, these NFTs remain purely a collectible that we are offering to our biggest fans that are supporting Cryptonovae each month, putting their trust in our team, and being there with us as we navigate the challenges, not only of this market but also through the process of developing software designed to help traders achieve more.
Safe to say, we wouldn’t be where we are without all of our community members, which we are proud to serve. While we cannot make any promises about future utility at this moment, we have entertained several interesting ideas including:
- Providing lifetime access to NFT Holders
- Removing all any Cryptonovae fees from holders
- NFT Staking for rewards
- Creating a special club for NFT holders
Either way, we are very open to hearing what everybody in the community thinks about what is the best way to provide utility for these NFTs and lift them from the status of pure collectibles to true treasures.
